A registration type signifies what kinds of entities can sign up for a particular event.

Registration Types

• Child (parent signs up a child, understood to be a legal minor)
• Family
• Group
• Self (where the individual is understood to be a legal adult)

Child and Self registration types will use the Individual Registration Wizard to create the registration while Family and Group registration types will use the Group Registration Wizard. Typically, the registration type will indicate who owns the resulting itinerary: a family will own the itinerary for both family events and child events (since minors are typically not held responsible for payment), groups will own the itinerary for group registrations, and individuals who sign themselves up as a Self registration will have the itinerary attached to their individual record.
